General information about the conference

The Oriental studies department, Institute of Linguistics, RSUH, in cooperation with the Association for the Advancement of Sinoаlogy is holding the first international conference “Chinese Linguistics and Sinology”.

The conference will be dedicated to the memory of the remarkable Soviet-Russian linguist Tan Aoshuang (1931-2017) (page “A word about Tan” and photo gallery)

The themes of the conference would include two parts:  linguistic and sinological.  


Linguistic part: October 3 & 4 , 2019

  • theoretical description of the Chinese language (syntax, semantics, stylistics, lexicology, phraseology, dialects, corpus studies)
  • theoretical questions of Chinese language teaching (relationship between theoretical and practice-oriented description of grammatical phenomena in Chinese, theoretical description of Chinese in profiling higher school courses (classical Chinese, stylistics, lexicology, syntax of Chinese language etc.), Chinese teaching manuals, modern information technologies for learning/teaching Chinese language
  • Scientific legacy of Tan Aoshuang 
  • Translation and translation studies

Sinological part: October 5, 2019

  • Literature studies of China
  • Literature studies of China
  • Chinese art and archeology
  • Chinese philosophy and religion

The proceedings of the conference would be included in the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI). The results of the linguistic sections are planned to be published as a special issue of the RSUH/RGGU Bulletin ”Linguistics. Moscow linguistic magazine”. The decision of including articles in the bulletin is taken by the organizing committee and editors.

Transfer to the conference venue, hotel stay, registration fees and other expenses are paid by the sending side or by the participants themselves.

Oral presentation

A 15-minute speech in one of two sections will be announced in advance.

If you want to make an oral presentation, you need to submit an abstract and undergo a review.

The abstracts which have passed the review, will be included in the compilation, which will be published and included in the RSCI (Russian Science station Index).



Poster workshop

Submit your work in A1 format. Before the poster workshop/section you will have an opportunity to present your research on stage within the space of one minute.  

If you want to make an oral report, you need to submit it and pass a review.

The abstracts which have passed the review will be included in the compilation to be published and included in the RSCI.
